Jovdat Hajiyev's Birthday

Today marks the birth of Jovdat Hajiyev, a luminary of Azerbaijani music.

Born on June 18, 1917, in Sheki, he studied at the Azerbaijan and Moscow Conservatories.

After the war, he completed his education and co-composed the opera "Vatan" with Gara Garayev.

Author of eight symphonies, Hajiyev passed away in 2002.
