Restoration work has begun on the Altiagac-Khizi highway following a landslide caused by heavy rainfall, under a presidential decree.
The State Agency of Azerbaijan Automobile Roads reports that manpower and special equipment have been deployed. Damaged sections are being repaired, soil masses cleared, and the roadbed strengthened.
The goal is to ensure safe traffic flow and fully restore transport links in the region. Additional preventive measures are being taken to minimize risks from rainy weather.
Under the decree, a total of 25 roads across the country will be repaired for rain and flood damage. This includes restoring damaged infrastructure, repairing bridges and culverts, and strengthening protective measures in hazardous areas.
