Deputy Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources Umayra Tagiyeva stated that creating an air quality monitoring system in liberated territories within the "Socio-Economic Development Strategy of Azerbaijan for 2022-2026" is crucial for climate resilience.

Speaking at the 13th session of the World Urban Forum, she emphasized that green infrastructure plays a key role in clean air and sustainable cities.

"Large infrastructure projects put additional pressure on nature," Tagiyeva said. She stressed that nature conservation measures must be implemented in parallel with development activities.

Tagiyeva noted that clean air is not only an environmental issue but also a matter of economic productivity, social equity, and climate adaptation.
