The plane carrying the last groups of pilgrims took off at 18:40 local time (19:40 Baku time).
Vusal Jahangiri, head of the Foreign Relations Department of the Caucasus Muslims Office (CMO) and head of the Hajj electronic system, informed Oxu.Az.
According to him, the last plane had about 150 passengers: "Having taken off from Medina, considered the city of the Prophet (PBUH), the plane will fly over Egypt, Turkey and Georgia and is expected to land at Heydar Aliyev International Airport after midnight."
It should be noted that the departure of pilgrims for this year's Hajj pilgrimage began on May 17. On May 31, the first group of pilgrims returned from Mecca to Baku. The remaining pilgrims went to Medina in groups starting from June 3. After staying in Medina for 3 days, they returned to Baku.
Recall that this year the quota for Azerbaijani pilgrims in the Hajj pilgrimage was 1,150 places, and the price of the pilgrimage package per pilgrim was set at 6,100 US dollars.
