Employee salaries can be delayed for various reasons. What does the law say?
Today's topic of Oxu.Az's "What does the law say?" rubric examines unjustified salary delays.
According to Article 172 of the Labor Code, if the salary is delayed due to the employer's fault, the employee must receive at least 1% of their salary for each delayed day.
The article states that "employer's fault" includes failure to calculate wages on time, not withdrawing from the bank, or delaying financial operations. However, cases such as bank insolvency or non-payment by a third party are not considered the employer's fault.
