A lightning strike set a truck on fire in Aghdash, Azerbaijan, raising safety concerns during thunderstorms.

The incident occurred in the Leki village of Aghdash district. The truck, driven by Nurlan Allahverdiyev, was struck by lightning and caught fire within minutes.

Experts point out that metal vehicle frames make them more vulnerable to lightning strikes. With the rise of electric and hybrid vehicles, this issue gains even more relevance.

Auto mechanic Sahil Aghabayli stated that despite protective systems in high-voltage batteries, lightning can still cause malfunctions and fire risks. Drivers of hazardous material vehicles should be especially cautious.

Recommendations include parking in safe areas, keeping windows closed, and avoiding contact with metal surfaces during thunderstorms.
