Masim Mammadov: "Azerbaijan is gradually becoming a modern and sustainably developing country".
The Special Representative of the President in Lachin region, Masim Mammadov, said this at the 13th Session of the UN World Urban Forum (WUF13).
He noted that illegal economic activities in formerly occupied territories negatively affected development. However, over the past 30 years, Azerbaijan has preserved its cultural heritage.
The return of people to their homes is not only a humanitarian issue but also a vital part of economic and social development. Reconstruction and restoration work is underway in post-conflict areas.
Large-scale infrastructure projects are being implemented. New settlements are being built, and schools and hospitals are being constructed.
"The most important point is that this process is not just construction, but also a process of return and rebuilding ties," Masim Mammadov emphasized.
