In early 2021, construction of a five-story building began in the center of Mehdiabad settlement, Absheron district. Residents were promised that if they purchased apartments, they would move in within approximately one year. However, now it is 2026 and the building has not been handed over, leaving residents unable to move into their homes.
"Nobody cares about us. We even call Nadir himself. He says if you make too much noise, I'll take the apartment away and throw you out," one complainant told Baku TV.
"They've been putting us through this ordeal for five years. They neither hand over the building nor return our money. We don't want money because five years ago I paid 85,000 manats for this apartment. Now it's impossible to buy a home with that amount," another complainant said.
