Mehriban Abasguliyeva, arrested for the fire at the Republican Perinatal Center that killed 7 infants, has been sentenced to 7 years and 3 months in prison.

According to Oxu.Az citing Unikal, Abasguliyeva's brother, Chingiz Bashirov, served as chairman of the Sumgayit Administrative Economic and Baku Administrative Economic courts in the 1990s-2000s and later as deputy chairman of the Supreme Court.
