48-hour review for minor crimes

Obvious minor crimes may be reviewed within 48 hours under proposed changes to the Criminal Procedure Code.

A proposal suggests that information on obvious crimes that do not cause major public danger should be reviewed within 48 hours at the latest.

According to Oxu.Az, this issue is reflected in the proposed amendment to the Criminal Procedure Code.

Under the draft, when there are grounds for criminal prosecution and no circumstances specified in Article 293-1, a simplified pre-trial proceeding will be opened within 48 hours from the receipt of the information. Currently, this period is 24 hours.
