COP29 President Mukhtar Babayev stated that a warning issued 24 hours before a hazard can reduce losses and damages by 30 percent.
He emphasized the importance of early warning systems during an event at the Azerbaijan Pavilion at WUF13.
Babayev noted that the last decade was the hottest on record and cities are increasingly at the center of climate impacts.
Early warning systems save lives, reduce economic losses, and protect critical infrastructure.
