Azerbaijan will implement a completely new and fair mechanism for assessing the loss of work ability due to workplace accidents and occupational diseases.

The new rules, approved by the Cabinet of Ministers, are based on international experience and innovative digital solutions for transparency.

Previously, there were no precise criteria; now the process will be managed through electronic systems. The new approach assigns different disability percentages to different professions for the same injury.

The assessment considers four main criteria: percentage of body function loss, severity of the profession, manifestation degree, and age.

Applications will be submitted via the EMAS or e-social portal. The assessment will be completed within 10 business days.
