New landfill to be built in Absheron

A new waste landfill and four transfer stations will be built in Absheron. The project is implemented with the World Bank.

A new landfill and four transfer stations are planned in the Absheron Waste Basin.

According to Oxu.Az, this was announced by Gunel Gulieva, head of department at the Ministry of Economy, during an event at WUF13.

She stated that under a grant project with the World Bank, contaminated areas will be cleaned.

One landfill will be built in Absheron, and four transfer stations in Khizi and Shamakhi. Additional stations are planned in later phases.

The goal is to manage waste using international experience and modern standards.
