New Phase in North-South Corridor

Azerbaijan Railways chairman meets Russian and Iranian railway heads in Moscow to boost North-South Corridor cooperation.

Chairman of Azerbaijan Railways (ADY) Rovshan Rustamov led a delegation to Russia. Bilateral and trilateral meetings were held with the management of Russian Railways (RZD) and the heads of railway administrations of Russia and Iran.

The meetings discussed the current state and expansion of mutual cooperation, development of the North-South International Transport Corridor, and increasing route efficiency and cargo transportation.

The parties considered accelerating digitalization and implementing modern digital solutions.

A protocol was signed following the trilateral meeting. Human capital development issues were also discussed between ADY and RZD.

During the visit, a meeting with cargo senders in Russia was held. ADY presented secure and sustainable services for the East-West and North-South corridors, expanding capabilities of Astara Terminal, and the "Cargo Tracking" digital platform.

The parties noted that joint initiatives will contribute to the development of the North-South International Transport Corridor.
