Chairman of the State Customs Committee Shahin Baghirov stated that no changes in customs tariffs are expected in the near future.

He noted that there are currently no initiatives to reduce tariffs or introduce new exemptions. However, the economic impact of existing exemptions is being assessed.

In 2025, imports worth $18.1 billion were made. Of these, 29.5% benefited from VAT exemptions and 52.5% from customs duty exemptions. Total exemptions amounted to 3.424 billion manats.

Exemptions mainly apply to industrial equipment, spare parts, and intermediate goods. The goal is to boost local production and export potential.
