In Azerbaijan, some individuals will not be required to have a driver's license.

Today's topic of Oxu.Az's "What does the law say?" rubric concerns the exemption from driver's license requirements for those controlling autonomous vehicles.

The concept of "autonomous vehicle" is being introduced into legislation. The bill, discussed in the Milli Majlis, defines autonomous vehicles as those that can operate safely with minimal or no human intervention.

No driver's license will be required for individuals monitoring the automated control system of an autonomous vehicle. However, if technical parameters allow direct control, a driver's license of the appropriate category is required.
