Noni fruit juice can activate a specific mechanism in stomach cancer cells, halting their growth.
New research shows that this tropical fruit juice has potent effects against stomach cancer cells. In experiments on mice, scientists observed that the juice reduced tumor cell viability and slowed their spread.
Noni juice contains flavonoids such as apigenin, naringenin, and curcumol, which trigger iron accumulation and lipid oxidation in cells. This process induces ferroptosis, a specialized form of cell death.
The study results were published in the journal "Food & Function." Researchers emphasize that this mechanism could open new avenues for stomach cancer treatment.
