Nqa Kor Minq, President of the UN Habitat Assembly, stated that Baku becomes the world capital during the 13th Urban Forum.

According to Oxu.Az, he made these remarks at the official opening ceremony of the 13th Session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13).

He emphasized that the global urban agenda has never been more important for multilateral cooperation. Actions must be based on the real economy.

According to UN Habitat statistics, 2.8 billion people live in informal settlements. By 2040, 2 billion urban residents will suffer from a 0.5°C temperature increase. This is not just inadequate housing; it means they are fighting for survival.

Nqa Kor Minq called for doubling efforts to achieve the urban agenda and sustainable development goals.
