More than 10 hydroelectric power plants have been commissioned in Kalbajar for energy supply.

According to Oxu.Az, this was stated by Bashir Hajiyev, special representative of the President of Azerbaijan in Kalbajar district, during an event titled "From Urbicide to Post-Conflict Reconstruction" held at the Azerbaijan pavilion within WUF13.

He noted that the energy produced under projects implemented by "AzerEnergy" OJSC enables the supply of industrial facilities, including the Istisu mineral water plant and other areas.

"After the liberation of the territories, in accordance with the President's instructions, the Kalbajar gas distribution station and new distribution stations in East Zangezur were built. Additionally, a distribution station was constructed in the village of Gamishly.

Within the projects implemented in Kalbajar city, sewerage lines, wastewater systems, stormwater and drinking water drainage lines, as well as other communal infrastructure projects are being carried out.

I would like to note that the Istisu mineral water plant first began operation in 1976 and was completely destroyed during the Armenian occupation. After the liberation of the Kalbajar district, the foundation of the plant was laid on June 17, 2022, and the facility was recommissioned in 2024.

Currently, the annual production capacity of the plant exceeds 1 billion liters. Istisu mineral waters are widely used in the treatment of diabetes, hypertension, cardiovascular and gastrointestinal diseases.
