Today, the 9th day of Dhu al-Hijjah in the Islamic calendar, Muslims around the world observe the Day of Arafat. Millions of pilgrims have gathered at Mount Mercy for noon prayers.
Vusal Jahangiri, head of the Foreign Relations Department of the Caucasus Muslims Office (CMO), stated that Azerbaijani pilgrims have been transported to a special tent camp and have begun their worship.
“The Day of Arafat is the most important part of Hajj. Without it, the pilgrimage is incomplete,” he said.
After evening prayers, pilgrims will proceed to Muzdalifah, then tomorrow they will throw stones at Jamarat, sacrifice an animal, and perform Tawaf and Sa'yi to complete the rites.
This year, the quota for Azerbaijani pilgrims is 1150, with each package costing $6100.
