Baku TV's "Return to the Village" show visited Tikanli village in Gabala region.
Located 11 km from the district center, this foothill village of about 2,000 people mainly lives on agriculture: apple, pear and hazelnut orchards, vegetable growing and livestock.
Villager Dursun Bayramov said Tikanli left its mark on Azerbaijani literature. In Ismayil bey Gutgashinli's work "Rashid bey and Saadat khanum", Rashid bey hid his lover in this village.
The show also highlighted social problems. Villager Gulgez Jabbarova said that without a mosque, people pray by the river. Infrastructure issues like roads, gas and bridge remain unresolved for years.
