In many multi-story buildings in Baku, residents face a serious concern: the lack of emergency communication in old elevators.
Without an emergency button, passengers don't know whom to contact when trapped.
Engineer Tural Salmanzade from "Lifttəmir" said that 1,354 elevators in Baku have a central dispatch system. Soviet-era elevators lack it. Passengers stuck in those can only call the numbers listed inside or shout for help.
In Sumgait, a centralized system has been working for nearly 10 years. Zaur Ismiyev from "Lift-Servis" explained: "Elevators are monitored 24/7. Any malfunction is immediately visible, and we respond quickly."
