Keeping beaches clean is vital for a healthy ecosystem and safe recreation. Personal responsibility, waste sorting, regular clean-up campaigns, and adherence to sanitary rules are key civic duties.
Tourism expert Rahman Guliyev emphasized that every citizen must protect our shores. Azerbaijan's 950 km coastline includes 200 km suitable for beaches, with 130 km currently used. He urged: We must clean our beaches and increase potential.
Professor Adil Geybulla stressed the need to monitor water sanitation standards. According to norms, one coliform per cubic meter of water is acceptable.
Lawyer Turan Abdullazade noted fines for pollution: 300 manat for cigarette butts, 300 manat for household waste (individuals), 1000 manat for officials, and 4000 manat for legal entities.
Housing and Communal Services unions reported that container sites along the coast have been established, and regular monitoring is conducted. Citizens are requested to follow cleanliness rules.
