US military personnel observed nearly 200 unidentified flying objects (UFOs) in one day in 1949 near Sandia Base, a nuclear weapons facility in New Mexico.
According to Oxu.Az, this was revealed in officially published Pentagon documents. The declassified materials include a 116-page report on UFO sightings near US strategic military installations.
The document covers hundreds of episodes between 1948 and 1950, confirming that unusual events regularly occurred in the skies over New Mexico and near US Armed Forces facilities.
Based on archival documents, on January 30, 1949, approximately 200 UFOs appeared near Alamogordo. The unknown objects were described as 'glowing green spheres' that gradually descended and then disappeared. Five minutes earlier, similar blue-green objects were sighted near Roswell.
Recall that Roswell is famous for the well-known UFO crash on July 2, 1947. This event led to July 2 being celebrated worldwide as 'World UFO Day'.
