This year, Qurban Bayram (Eid al-Adha) falls on May 27 in Azerbaijan, according to the Caucasus Muslims Office.
The Eid prayer will be held in all mosques on May 27. At Ajdarbey Mosque, the prayer will be at 08:00, and at Tazapir Mosque at 09:00. Sacrifice can be performed for three days from that day.
When choosing a sacrificial animal, ensure it is healthy. Sick, weak, blind, or seriously defective animals are not acceptable. The animal must meet the age requirements of Sharia and must not be mistreated.
The meat should primarily be distributed to the needy, poor families, orphans, families of martyrs, and deprived neighbors. Sharing with relatives and friends is also a good deed. One may eat from their own sacrifice.
The purpose of sacrifice is to share, show mercy, and create unity in society. The best sacrifice is one that brings joy to a needy person's table.
