Plans are underway to establish regional branches of the Blood Bank in recently liberated territories.
Ramig Guliyev, head of the Health Policy Department at the Ministry of Health, announced during an event dedicated to World Blood Donor Day that there are currently 8 regional branches of the Blood Bank across the country. He noted that two more branches are planned to open soon in the liberated economic regions.
Guliyev added that following a decision in July 2024, important steps have been taken to develop this sector and improve blood services. Strengthening the legal framework and promoting voluntary unpaid donation are among the main priorities.
The purpose of celebrating World Blood Donor Day is to encourage people to donate blood voluntarily and highlight the importance of donors for society. One donation can save one or even several lives.
