The Food Safety Agency of Azerbaijan (AQTA) organized an informational tour for media representatives at an animal slaughter site ahead of Eid al-Adha.
The goal was to highlight the importance of conducting animal slaughter and sales in compliance with legal requirements amid increased demand during the holiday.
At the 'Azmeat' facility, journalists were shown the slaughter process firsthand.
It was emphasized that strict adherence to veterinary-sanitary rules is crucial for protecting both workers and consumers.
Staff must be provided with special clean clothing, tools must be regularly disinfected, and waste must be collected and removed in a timely manner.
Additionally, mobile laboratories will operate at tent-type slaughter points to promptly test samples if any disease is suspected.
