Everything is being built from scratch in the liberated territories. Vahid Hajiyev, the President's Special Representative for Jabrayil, Gubadli and Zangilan districts, spoke about this at the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) in Baku.
He stated that housing is not only a social right but also a driving force for economic activity. Sustainable development is impossible without social inclusion.
In a post-conflict setting, housing provision is the first visible sign of people's return and the basis for restoring trust. Cities, villages and smart villages are being built, each carrying both social and economic value.
Roads and highways are being constructed, and educational and healthcare facilities are being created. Solar panels are installed on rooftops to reduce utility costs. Special bicycle lanes are being built in villages so that people can easily go to school and other places.
