Azerbaijan has seen a significant increase in admissions to higher education institutions at both bachelor's and master's levels. The Ministry of Science and Education has released the figures for the 2025/2026 academic year.
At the bachelor's level, student admissions have grown by 18% over the past four years. This year, 60,860 out of 61,420 planned spots were filled (98.4%), with 28,421 students receiving state-funded education.
At the master's level, admissions rose from 10,484 in 2021/2022 to 14,335 in 2025/2026 (29.4% increase). 76% of planned spots were filled, and 6,674 students (37.4%) qualified for state-funded education.
