A brewery in Baku's Khatai district is allegedly discharging wastewater directly into the Caspian Sea.

Video footage released by Oxu.Az shows toxic substances killing hectares of aquatic life.

Large numbers of fish are poisoned, posing serious health risks to humans.

The State Control Service for Water Use and Protection confirmed that wastewater from "Alko LMD Azer Spirit 2024" LLC was flowing through an open channel and then an underground pipe into the Caspian.

Laboratory tests revealed levels of suspended solids, chemical oxygen demand (COD), biological oxygen demand (BOD5), and ammonium many times above permissible limits.

This pollution devastates the Caspian ecosystem, depletes oxygen, and threatens marine life.

Based on the findings, materials have been sent to the Police Department for Water Transport under the Criminal Code articles 250.1 and 252.1.
