Turkey supports the transformation of the Baku Sustainability Coalition into a permanent climate dialogue platform.
According to Oxu.Az, Turkey's Deputy Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change, Hasan Suver, stated this at a high-level meeting of the Baku Sustainability Coalition on urban climate action and sustainable urbanization, held within the 13th Session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) in Baku.
The Deputy Minister noted that climate change is no longer just an environmental issue but a complex, multifaceted challenge that directly impacts urban safety, infrastructure resilience, and food and water security.
"Turkey sees the Baku Sustainability Coalition as a strategic bridge between COP29 in Baku, WUF13, and COP31 in Antalya. The coalition should become a permanent dialogue platform and support turning declarations of intent into practical projects and concrete financial mechanisms," he emphasized.
