At the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) in Baku, a UN official emphasized the importance of using solar energy in residential buildings.
Nqa Kor Ming, Malaysia's Minister of Housing and Local Government and acting president of the UN-Habitat Assembly, stated that 77% of citizens in Malaysia are homeowners. The government is implementing new housing projects for low-income families.
He noted: "The use of solar energy in homes should be expanded, and quality living spaces and parks should be created. Climate change and geopolitical factors must be key considerations in urban planning policy."
