The Main State Traffic Police Department has issued a warning regarding adverse weather conditions.
According to the National Hydrometeorology Service, on May 25-26, Baku and the Absheron Peninsula, as well as some regions of the country, will experience intermittent heavy rain, strong winds, and lightning. Short-term intense precipitation, hail, and snow in mountainous areas are possible.
Such weather conditions seriously affect road safety and increase the risk of accidents.
Therefore, the Main State Traffic Police Department calls on all road users to be more careful:
Drivers are advised to choose speed according to weather and road conditions, increase following distance, avoid sharp maneuvers and unnecessary overtaking, and drive with caution. When visibility is reduced, use lights properly and adjust high beams so as not to blind oncoming drivers.
Pedestrians should cross the road only at designated crossings and be especially careful in limited visibility.
In particular, moped, motorcycle, and scooter riders should be more attentive in windy conditions and, if possible, limit their movement. Strong winds make it difficult to control these vehicles and increase the risk of overturning.
Let us remember that in the current weather conditions, every responsible behavior helps prevent possible traffic accidents.
