Record heatwaves in Europe have paralyzed life in several countries. Romania declared a red alert, while Italy, France, Spain, and Greece saw temperatures exceed 40°C.
Could similar extreme heat occur in Azerbaijan? Ecologist Anvar Aliyev spoke to Oxu.Az.
He says long-term forecasts are often inaccurate: "It's impossible to predict the weather two months in advance."
Aliyev noted that spring precipitation in Azerbaijan was normal: "Temperatures of 40-45°C are not new in Azerbaijan."
He explained that the same temperatures cause worse effects in Europe due to higher humidity and older populations: "There is no reason for panic now."
