Chairperson Bahar Muradova stated that women face more difficulties in accessing adequate housing.
She made these remarks at the "Women's Roundtable" during WUF13 in Baku.
Muradova noted that barriers include economic inequalities, patriarchal stereotypes, and inadequate social protection.
She emphasized that female-headed households, forcibly displaced persons, elderly and disabled women are at higher risk.
The chairperson added that lack of safe housing in gender-based violence cases forces women into difficult choices.
Muradova stressed that housing policy is not only about shelter but also about human security and fundamental rights.
