The second day of the 13th Session of the United Nations World Urban Forum (WUF13) begins.
Oxu.Az reports that today, for the first time in the forum's history, the Leaders Summit will be held at the initiative of Azerbaijan.
In addition, the joint final meeting of the Assemblies, the official opening of the Urban Expo, and the Regional Meeting of Ministers for the Africa region will take place.
It should be noted that WUF13 is organized jointly by the UN Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat) and the Government of Azerbaijan.
The forum, themed "Housing for All: Safe and Sustainable Cities and Human Settlements," will continue until May 22.
Within the forum, global issues related to the future of cities, sustainable development, climate challenges, and human well-being are discussed.
Recall that on the first day of the forum, under Azerbaijan's chairmanship, a ministerial meeting on the New Urban Agenda, the Women's Assembly, the World Assembly of Local and Regional Governments, the Assembly of Community Associations and Civil Society Organizations, the Children and Youth Assembly, and the Business Assembly were held.
Additional events within the forum included the Global Water Operators' Partnerships Alliance (GWOPA), jointly organized by the UN Human Settlements Programme and the Azerbaijan State Water Resources Agency.
