The fifth day of the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) in Baku has concluded.
The forum continued with discussions today. Various panel sessions were held throughout the day.
In the panel “Development of Azerbaijan's First National Sustainability Standard,” the President's representative on climate issues, Mukhtar Babayev, stated that WUF13 demonstrates Azerbaijan's priorities in sustainable urbanization.
First Deputy Minister of Finance Anar Karimov emphasized that Azerbaijan has allocated over $10 billion for the reconstruction of liberated territories.
Ukrainian Ambassador Yuri Gusev thanked Baku for support in the revival of Kharkiv.
In Kalbajar, the President's special representative Bashir Hajiyev said that design work for five villages has been completed, 222,000 square meters of area have been cleared of mines, and over 10 hydroelectric power plants have been commissioned.
The forum started on May 17, with the official opening on May 18. WUF13 is co-organized by the UN-Habitat and the Azerbaijani government. The forum will conclude tomorrow.
