The fourth day of the 13th session of the UN World Urban Forum (WUF13) in Baku has concluded. Over 100 events were held with discussions on various topics.
Economy Minister Mikayil Jabbarov spoke at an event on informal settlements transformation, highlighting challenges from displacement during the occupation.
A memorandum of understanding was signed between the State Committee for Urban Planning and Architecture and Kenya's Ministry. Committee Chairman Anar Guliyev noted that many buildings were constructed before seismic standards.
Amin Mammadov addressed water-centered development, emphasizing the need for work in water supply and sewage systems.
A Roundtable of Parliamentarians was held. The role of media in urban transformation was discussed. The Baku Urban Award was established by the Azerbaijani government and UN-Habitat. The forum continues until May 22.
