WUF13 Second Day Wraps Up

The second day of the UN World Urban Forum (WUF13) featured a press conference, official opening, and the inaugural Leaders Summit, attended by President Ilham Aliyev.

The 13th Session of the UN World Urban Forum (WUF13) has concluded its second day.

According to Oxu.Az, the second day began with a press conference before the official opening.

The conference discussed the goals and priorities of WUF13 and answered questions.

Later, the joint final meeting of Assemblies and the official opening of the Urban Expo Exhibition took place.

In the second half of the day, the official opening ceremony of WUF13 was held.

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva attended the event.

President Ilham Aliyev and UN-Habitat Executive Director Anaclaudia Rossbach welcomed the heads of state and government and delegation leaders.

After the welcome ceremony, a group photo was taken.

A video dedicated to the opening of WUF13, prepared by UN-Habitat, was shown, followed by a cultural program.

Then, the President of Azerbaijan delivered a speech.

After the official part, the Leaders Summit was held for the first time in WUF13 history.

Leaders from various countries, heads of state and government, and officials spoke at the summit.

It should be noted that WUF13 is organized jointly by UN-Habitat and the Government of Azerbaijan.

The forum, dedicated to the theme "Homes for Everyone: Safe and Sustainable Cities and Settlements," will continue until May 22.
