Today's youth are not just beneficiaries of development policies, but active partners in building a more peaceful, prosperous, and sustainable region.
Oxu.Az reports that these remarks were made by Kayrat Sarybay, Secretary General of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA), at the 9th meeting of the Youth Council.
He emphasized that innovative approaches and civic engagement are invaluable for addressing the complex challenges facing our societies.
The theme of this year's Youth Council meeting, 'Youth participation in promoting sustainable urban development,' is highly relevant. Urbanization is rapidly transforming our societies. Cities become centers of economic growth, innovation, and cultural exchange, while also facing serious challenges related to environmental sustainability, social inclusion, and public health. Youth, as representatives of the digital age and drivers of change, have the potential to propose innovative solutions and contribute to creating smarter, greener, and more sustainable urban environments.
The Secretary General noted that the meeting's location at Baku White City, one of the region's most ambitious urban planning and reconstruction projects, holds special symbolic meaning: 'I call on all participants to use this meeting of the Youth Council as a platform to develop dialogue among young leaders from the region's countries, share experiences, and successful examples.'
