Germany is home to more than four million refugees and displaced persons.
According to Oxu.Az citing TASS, the German Federal Statistical Office released the data ahead of World Refugee Day on June 20.
The statistics include those displaced during and after World War II up to 1950, numbering approximately 713,000.
It was noted that between 1950 and 2025, about 3.3 million people came to Germany seeking asylum or due to forced displacement. Of these, 25% (832,000) are Ukrainians, 22% (732,000) are Syrians. Other large groups include Afghans (316,000), Iraqis (186,000), Turks (146,000), Poles (120,000), and Iranians (117,000).
