A 46-year-old former British soldier, Budha Magar Hari, has become the first double-leg amputee to climb the Seven Summits - the highest mountains on each continent. He entered the Guinness World Records for the fifth time earlier this year.
Hari lost both legs while serving in Afghanistan. After severe injuries, he decided to take up mountaineering seriously and began his summit quest in 2019.
Over several years, he conquered Everest (8,848m), Kilimanjaro (5,895m), Denali (6,194m), Aconcagua (6,962m), Mount Vinson (4,892m), Carstensz Pyramid (4,884m), and Elbrus (5,642m). His latest record was registered in January 2026. Hari described the climbs as incredibly tough, sometimes facing death, but his willpower helped him complete all routes.
