The U.S. Department of Justice has assessed the plan to attack the UFC event at the White House as a new assassination attempt on President Donald Trump.
According to Oxu.Az citing RIA Novosti, this was stated in a court document.
Earlier, the FBI announced that the plot had been foiled. It was reported that the criminals planned to use explosive-laden drones to disrupt the event and cause an evacuation, then funnel people into the line of fire of snipers.
The FBI has identified 23 individuals linked to the incident, five of whom have been detained. The suspects face life imprisonment and fines of up to $250,000.
