The United States Mint has introduced new one-dollar coins honoring Apple co-founder Steve Jobs as part of the 'American Innovation Coin' program.

The coin features a youthful Jobs in his iconic turtleneck, jeans, and sneakers against a backdrop of Northern California's natural landscape. Designers say the pensive pose symbolizes the influence of California's nature on his technological vision.

The design was developed with support from California Governor Gavin Newsom and the Steve Jobs Archive. Archive representatives note that Jobs had a deep connection to the region's nature, which inspired the minimalist design of Apple devices.

Governor Newsom described Jobs as a living embodiment of California's entrepreneurial and innovative spirit, whose determination to realize the 'California dream' inspires millions.

The coins are offered in packs of 25 for $61 (about $2.44 per coin) and in sets of 100 for $154.50.
