US President Donald Trump did not meet with soldiers injured in Iran operations during his visit to a military hospital.
CBS News reported, citing sources, that Trump visited Walter Reed National Military Medical Center for an annual check-up on Tuesday.
He spoke with some soldiers but did not visit the 14 service members injured in combat against Iran. The White House confirmed the visit but gave no explanation for the omission.
On February 28, Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz said Israel had launched a preemptive strike against Iran. Trump later said the US also participated in the operation.
Iran fired dozens of ballistic missiles at Israel. Israel activated air defense systems. On March 1, Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei was reported killed.
Iran struck neighboring countries hosting US military bases, causing temporary airspace closures. Navigation through the Strait of Hormuz faced severe disruptions.
On April 8, Trump announced a two-week ceasefire with Tehran hours before his ultimatum expired. The first meeting was held in Islamabad, but a second meeting planned for April 22 did not take place.
