Iranian and US delegations will hold their first direct round of talks on June 19 in Switzerland. The meeting will discuss technical issues, including Iran's nuclear program.
According to Al Arabiya, citing private sources, the parties will discuss political aspects of Tehran's nuclear program, lifting anti-Iran sanctions, and legal issues related to unfreezing Iran's assets. Issues concerning Lebanon and the Hezbollah movement will also be addressed. The meetings may take place in Zurich.
Sources say representatives from Qatar and Pakistan will also participate. Some meetings will include delegates from Turkey and Saudi Arabia.
Earlier, Reuters reported, citing the Swiss Foreign Ministry, that the US and Iran would hold preliminary talks on June 19 on implementing the agreement reached in Bürgenstock.
