US forces have secretly moved nearly 70 commercial ships through the Strait of Hormuz over the past three weeks.

According to the New York Times, citing unnamed US Central Command officials, about three ships passed daily, down from over 100 before the conflict.

The US does not directly escort the vessels but coordinates their movements. Most ships traveled with transponders off to avoid detection, hugging the Omani coast.

Interestingly, a significant number still passed along the Iranian coast, suggesting Tehran may coordinate routes.
