A fraudster in Baku has been sentenced for deceiving citizens with promises of importing cars and sending workers abroad.
The accused, identified as Javid Isayev (name changed), convinced his neighbor to pay for a cheap "Mercedes-Benz GLE." The victim transferred 12,250 manats in installments, but the car never arrived.
In another scheme, the fraudster promised to organize a 12-person electrician and plumber brigade in Tyumen, Russia. He collected 3,000 manats as a deposit but failed to send any workers.
The court found him guilty of fraud and sentenced him to 3 years and 3 months in prison. Combined with a previous sentence, he will serve 3 years, 10 months, and 25 days.
