The U.S. Postal Service (USPS) has proposed new rules requiring states to submit lists of voters who received mail-in ballots, according to a Federal Register notice published Friday.
The proposal, which covers federal elections only, mandates states provide the names and barcodes tied to mail-in ballots. Primary elections are exempt.
USPS says the measure will ensure ballot integrity and aid law enforcement. The public has 30 days to comment before finalization.
This comes after a federal judge declined to block President Donald Trump's March 31 executive order on mail ballots, though its legality remains contested.
