In the Netherlands, renowned archaeologist Wim Dijkman has been arrested on suspicion of concealing bone remains believed to belong to the famous French musketeer d'Artagnan.

According to Oxu.Az citing the "PZC" publication, the scientist was released after handing over the remains to official authorities.

The remains, consisting of a shoulder bone and two teeth, were discovered in Maastricht. The municipality demanded their immediate return to the state, but Dijkman hid them in his home.

Following the incident, relations between the municipality and the archaeologist have become tense. Interestingly, Dijkman was knighted in 2026 for his contributions to archaeology.
